ITICA announces fourth annual National Fish & Chips Day
Model Karena Graham encourages everyone to celebrate a tradition and pick up a ‘one and one’ this National Fish & Chips Day, Wednesday 29th May. Organised by the Irish Traditional Italian Chippers Association, the fourth annual National Fish & Chips Day will see all ITICA members throughout Ireland offer their customers half price fish & chips to celebrate the 128 year old tradition.

Based in Ballymurrin, Co Wicklow, Padraig and his team specialise in hot and cold metal sculpturing incorporating metals such as copper, bronze, stainless steel, brass and other unusual metals. Digital Boost is eircom’s initiative to help SME owners increase their digital presence and maximise their online potential.
As winners of Digital Boost, Padraig o murchu hot-metal-studio will benefit from a brand new state-of-the-art website, a strategy day with digital and marketing experts from the eircom Expert Panel to provide consultation specific to their business, a telecoms package for one year and a place on the SureSkills Diploma in Digital Marketing, all to the value of €10,000.

Brian Hayes, TD, Minister of State with special responsibility for the Office of Public Works (OPW); Matthew Jebb, Director, National Botanic Gardens; James D Watson, co-discoverer of the structure of DNA ; and Sculptor Charles Jencks ; were in the National Botanic Gardens at the presentation to the Irish people of a sculpture, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the DNA double helix by James D. Watson and Francis Crick in 1953.

SuperValu, Ireland’s leading independent supermarket, is expecting to sell €58 million worth of National Dairy Council (NDC) Certified milk in 2013. This equates to over 65 million litres of NDC milk in 2013, sourced from seven creameries throughout the Republic of Ireland and supporting over 2000 local farming families. All of SuperValu’s Own Brand milk is NDC approved making it the ideal partner for National Dairy Week (April 29th – May 5th). The NDC Guarantee, featured on the carton, assures consumers that milk has been farmed and processed locally in the Republic of Ireland therefore helping to support local jobs.

Singer and Credit Union member, Imelda May, was at the Irish League of Credit Unions Annual General Meeting for 2013, held at the University of Limerick, Limerick.
The Irish League of Credit Unions, the representative body for 487 credit unions on the island of Ireland was holding its Annual General Meeting at University College Limerick.Over 2,000 delegates from North and South of the country travelled to Limerick for the two day event. The theme for the weekend’s conference is ‘Committed to Communities’ and discussions have been focusing on the new opportunities facing credit unions in a rapidly changing Irish economic and social environment.

The highlight of IASE National Supported Employment Week, Job Shadow Day sees hundreds of individuals with disabilities throughout Ireland take the opportunity to shadow a workplace mentor as he or she goes through a normal working day. Hundreds of employers throughout Ireland are involved.

A number of high profile individuals are taking part in Job Shadow Day, joining Ray D’Arcy and Neven Maguire to include: An Taoiseach Enda Kenny; Minister Joan Burton; RTÉ’s Derek Mooney; Kildare senior football manager Kieran Mc Geeney; Minister Leo Varadker; presenter and journalist Brendan O’Connor; Prime Time’s Richard Crowley; Senator David Norris and adventurer Mark Pollock.
Job Shadow Day is designed to give people with disabilities a unique opportunity to get a close up look at the world of work for one day or one week in April each year to discover and learn about the skills and education required to compete and succeed in the work place.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny T.D. today officially marked the arrival in Ireland of the Rugby League World Cup Trophy, the oldest trophy in world rugby.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny T.D.  officially marked the arrival in Ireland of the Rugby League World Cup Trophy, the oldest trophy in world rugby.Thomond Park in Limerick will be the only Irish venue to host a match in this year’s Rugby League World Cup tournament, which is being hosted by Wales and England. The home of Munster Rugby will see Ireland play Australia in their Group A clash on November 9th in front of an expected global TV audience of over 20 million viewers.

Taste a Memory Foods Tastes Success – Taste a Memory Foods, the Cork-based producer of healthy ready meals who last night appeared on Dragon’s Den, have hit the big time after leading convenience retailer SPAR signed up to stock their products in stores nationwide.
